Many people who have suffered bereavement find comfort spending time with the deceased. Relatives and friends may wish to pay their respects before the funeral. Our serene tranquil private chapel of rest are available during normal office hours or by appointment at weekends and evenings You may wish the deceased to come home prior to the funeral for family and friends to pay their respects.
Embalming temporarily preserves the natural appearance to ensure that relatives and friends who view the deceased have a comforting remembrance of their loved one. It may be helpful for you to provide a photograph of the deceased to assist us.
Expressing your feelings at such a sensitive and emotional time can often be difficult. For centuries people have used flowers to express their sympathy and thoughts. We can organize floral tributes for the funeral on your behalf. We have a large colour brochure containing many different floral arrangements. We use a highly regarded long-standing local florist.
If relatives prefer donations may be collected in lieu of flowers. We are happy to organise this on the family’s behalf. We usually hold the donations open for six to eight weeks following the funeral. We then write to the family informing them of the total amount received and a list of donors. One week later all donations are sent to the nominated charity asking them to forward the family an official receipt.
